About the Role

The Youth Specialist provides case management services to young people at risk of disconnection from their family, community, education, training, and employment, or at risk of harm.

As a Youth Specialist, you will work closely with young people, their families, and support networks to identify needs and aspirations, and develop a plan to achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support and interventions based on the program model of care.
  • Engage with clients in a positive and assertive manner, consistent with ATSICHS values and vision.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality case management practices and record-keeping.
  • Facilitate client-led assessments and care plans to identify goals and needs.
  • Provide role-specific targeted interventions and family-facilitated group meetings to achieve client goals.
Requirements
  • Current Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Social Science, Health, Allied Health, Youth Work, Community Services, Family Intervention, or Criminology with 4 years' relevant experience.
  • Or, current Diploma in Community Services, Social Work, Human Services, Child and Family, Allied Health, Youth Work, Child and Family Intervention with 5 years' relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a case management role.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work in a performance-driven environment to meet individual targets.
  • Knowledge and understanding of factors contributing to vulnerability, disengagement, and intergenerational trauma.
  • Experience with case management for high-risk and/or crisis clients.
  • Current drivers' license and Working with Children's Card (Blue Card) or eligibility to apply.
