Clinical Nurse Specialist Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse Specialist to play a vital role in patient care, providing education and guidance to support the patient journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care and improve patient outcomes.
  • Provide expert education and guidance to patients from pre-operative assessment through post-operative management.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, carers, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Contribute to clinical practice development and champion evidence-based practice to drive excellence in patient care.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining involvement within the wider team to promote collaboration and communication.

Requirements:

  • Current registration with AHPRA - Division 1 Registered Nurse with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Post-registration Qualifications in Stoma Therapy with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care.
  • At least 3 years full-time equivalent experience working in Gastrointestinal Surgery and/or Stoma Therapy with a proven track record of success.
  • Commitment to lead, educate, and champion a multidisciplinary team to achieve outstanding patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities according to best practice, with a focus on patient-centered care.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, carers, and a diverse range of healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
