  • Permanent Part-time: 16 hours per week with flexibility on hours.
  • SCHCADS Award LV3 hourly rates range from $37 - $40.05 per hour.

Your Role

We're seeking compassionate individuals to join our dynamic team at Mary's Place as a Community Support Specialist. This role involves providing essential support to clients in our Homelessness and Housing Services. You'll work closely with clients, maintaining an inclusive and trauma-informed approach to ensure they feel safe and valued.

Your Responsibilities
  • Client Support: Work closely with clients, offering hands-on assistance at our site and helping new clients with entry and assessments.
  • Case Collaboration: Support clients in line with their case plans, collaborating with the case management team to deliver well-rounded, consistent support.
  • Daily Operations: Assist with daily site running, ensuring a welcoming, safe, and clean environment for all.
  • Advocacy & Communication: Act as a client advocate when needed, liaising with internal and external resources to connect clients to essential services.
  • Creating a Welcoming Space: Oversee site activities, manage the flow of people, and maintain a positive atmosphere.
You Will Need
  • Qualifications: Certificate or equivalent experience in a related field or ongoing tertiary study.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to high-quality customer service.
  • Team-Oriented Attitude: Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercising sound judgment in crisis situations.
  • Non-Judgmental Approach: A compassionate, ethical approach toward clients and colleagues, maintaining an open, inclusive attitude at all times.
