Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and compliant cost accounting records.
  • Manage costs for production, inventory, and operating expenses.
  • Evolve the standard costing system by analyzing variances, costing new products, and updating standard costs annually.
  • Properly value inventory on the balance sheet, including establishing required reserves.
  • Partner with departments to drive efficiency.
  • Monitor labor utilization and efficiency related to production builds.
  • Review manufacturing department spend for reasonableness and note variances to budget.
  • Present site financial performance, articulating key cost drivers, variances, and trends to site leadership.
  • Support ERP system implementation as needed, focusing on cost accounting, costing master data management, and inventory transactions.
  • Participate in physical inventory, overseeing counts, reviewing variances, and conducting audits as necessary.
  • Manage the inventory cycle count program and identify opportunities for improved accuracy.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with a focus on manufacturing finance/cost accounting is required. A minimum of 8+ years of experience using standard costing in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing industries is also necessary. Advanced Excel skills for financial analyses, variance analysis, and cost simulations are required. Strong knowledge of ERP systems, particularly NetSuite or Oracle, is preferred. Solid understanding of WMS and MRP systems is also required. Ability to effectively communicate across different functions and levels of the organization, work independently, and obtain/maintain an NV2 security clearance are essential.
