Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Associate to join our team in Sydney and support the development of major infrastructure and energy projects for domestic and international clients.

The successful candidate will have experience in front-end construction and infrastructure law, with a strong understanding of commercial drafting and negotiation skills. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with clients and diverse stakeholder audiences.

As a core member of the Projects team, you will work closely with Partners and colleagues on high-profile front-end energy and infrastructure projects primarily with major contractors and developers. Strong experience in advising and running PPP projects is ideal, although we will consider candidates with experience advising on front-end design and construct and EPC's.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technical expert who is confident advising clients with complex drafting and negotiation skills. You will be given a high level of responsibility and autonomy to lead matters or work streams, and will be a key contributor to the success of the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • An Australian qualified lawyer four to eight years' post-qualification experience in private practice
  • Demonstrated experience in front-end construction and infrastructure law
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to assimilate information quickly and handle multiple priorities within tight timeframes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise with clients and diverse stakeholder audiences
  • Commercial awareness and enthusiasm for business development
