Job Description

The Site Operations Accountant is a critical role that requires strong commercial acumen and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly/quarterly forecasts and associated variance analysis, as well as managing internal and external financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor degree in Business, Commerce or Accounting, and be working towards CA/CPA or equivalent qualification. They will have at least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience, preferably in the mining industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly forecasts and associated variance analysis
  • Manage internal and external financial reporting
  • Enforce adherence to commercial policies and identify business improvement efforts
  • Analyze and optimize departmental and activity-based costs
  • Coordinate timely reporting in accordance with Joint Venture and management agreements
  • Support site personnel on company financial, procurement, and commercial policies
  • Drive a culture of innovation and high performance within the team
  • Oversee key projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Commerce or Accounting
  • Working towards CA/CPA or equivalent qualification

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
  • Preferably in the mining industry

Skills:

  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Methodical, accurate and timely preparation of data and report writing
  • Ability to work collaboratively across various departments
