Job Title: Data and Analytics Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data and Analytics Specialist to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our analytics team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data models, developing ETL pipelines, and creating data visualizations to support business decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data analysis and visualization tools, including SQL, Tableau, and Power BI. You will also have excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Modeling: Design and implement scalable data models to support business intelligence initiatives.
  • ETL Development: Develop efficient ETL/ELT pipelines to transform raw data into usable datasets.
  • Data Transformation: Use tools like dbt and Coalesce for SQL-based transformations, delivering organized datasets for analysis.
  • Data Visualization: Create compelling data visualizations and dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with modern data transformation tools (e.g., dbt, Coalesce).
  • Experience with cloud platforms like Snowflake, BigQuery, Fabric, or Databricks.
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes.
  • Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Bonus Skills
  • Familiarity with machine learning or advanced data science techniques.
  • Passion for creating intuitive data visualizations that tell compelling stories.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Valid permanent work visa, permanent residency, or Australian citizenship.
