Senior Fleet Management Specialist

As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of our vehicle fleet. This underpins the critical delivery of pathology services across Sydney, regional and rural NSW.

This is a high-profile role that requires a leader to oversee all aspects of fleet management, from acquisition and utilisation through to maintenance, replacement planning and compliance. With a focus on safety, sustainability and operational continuity, this position offers the opportunity to drive improvements in fleet policy and practice while supporting the vital transport of pathology specimens that communities depend on every day.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and administer fleet policies in support of operational continuity, sustainability and optimising total operating cost outcomes.
  • Work with logistics managers, regional directors, finance teams and drivers to ensure ongoing alignment of fleet policies to related best practices.
  • Maintain the vehicle fleet in an optimum state to provide for the safety and security of drivers, passengers and precious cargo across operations.
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or a combination of qualifications and substantial experience in fleet management and operations, demonstrating a solid foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of the role.
  • Strong experience in fleet operations and management, including vehicle acquisition, maintenance, disposal, and overall portfolio oversight. Demonstrated ability to apply industry best practices, comply with relevant legislation and organisational policies and standards.
  • Proficient in corporate financial and administrative systems, with hands-on experience using fleet management and telematics platforms to support operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
