About the Role

This is a full-time position that offers a blend of on-the-job training and theory coursework, resulting in a UEE30420 Data and Voice Communications qualification. You will be mentored by industry professionals while completing this apprenticeship.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deploy local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), VoIP systems, and other network infrastructure to support organisational needs.
  • Recommend hardware, software, and network topology based on performance requirements and business objectives.
  • Monitor network performance to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and implement corrective actions to improve system efficiency.
  • Conduct regular system audits and performance reviews to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Identify and resolve hardware and software issues promptly, minimising downtime and maintaining productivity.
  • Run diagnostics, document problems and solutions, and escalate critical issues when necessary to ensure timely resolution.
  • Implement and maintain security protocols to protect data transmission and prevent unauthorised access.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations to safeguard the organisation's interests.
  • Collaborate with network architects, IT teams, and end-users to optimise system performance and improve user experience.
About You

We are seeking a motivated individual who is eager to learn and develop their skills in data and voice communications. A Certificate II in Electrotechnology is beneficial but not essential for this role. Strong communication skills and a willingness to undertake physical work in indoor and outdoor settings are required.

The successful candidate must be willing to travel and possess a good attitude and motivation to undertake this trade.

  • Completed at least Year 10 with good results in English and Mathematics.
  • Possession of a valid driver's licence.
  • A safety-minded approach to work.
  • Well-presented appearance and excellent listening skills.
  • Commitment to working safely and following instructions.
