Job Title: Host/Hostess

A host/hostess provides exceptional customer service to patrons at a restaurant or bar. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet patrons and present menus, making recommendations and answering questions regarding food and beverages.
  • Serve food and beverages, taking orders and relaying them to kitchen and bar staff.
  • Prepare and serve specialty food at customers' tables, describing menu items and advising on menu selections.
  • Present bills to customers and accept payment, balancing cash and recording sales.
  • Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs, providing a clean and welcoming environment for customers.
Key Qualifications:
  • No formal education is required.
  • Three to four years of serving experience is preferred.
  • A Serving It Right Certificate is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with Point of Sale systems is an asset.
Work Environment:
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling are essential duties.
  • The work environment is fast-paced with frequent heavy loads.
  • This role requires prolonged standing and physical stamina.
  • Ability to work under pressure is crucial.
