About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Forensic Medical Specialist to join our team at the WCHN. The successful candidate will have expertise in providing high-quality community-based forensic medical services, using evidence-based practice, including medicolegal examinations for women and men who have experienced sexual assault.

Key Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Provide expert evidence regarding sexual assault issues and injury causation for the courts;">
  • Provide documentation and reports for use within the legal system;">
  • Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless service delivery.">

Requirements

">

To be successful in this role, you will need:

">
  • ">
  • A Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent qualification;">
  • Registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration;">
  • Extensive experience in acute medical assessment, preferably in an Emergency Department or other acute medical setting;">
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary practice, issues, and research in relation to sexual assault medicine and interpersonal violence;">
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals and teams.">
