Academic Support Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Academic Support Specialist to join our team as soon as possible.
- Develop, implement, and review Individualised Learning Plans for students with diverse learning needs, ensuring personalised support to promote academic success.
- Conduct regular assessments, including diagnostic and standardised testing, to monitor student progress. Use data to inform instructional strategies and support differentiation in a virtual environment.
- Work closely with classroom teachers and support staff to implement tailored educational strategies that meet individual student needs. Provide guidance on effective differentiation techniques and inclusive practices.
- Maintain regular communication with parents, guardians, and external specialists (e.g. speech therapists, psychologists) to ensure a collaborative approach to student support and wellbeing.
- Provide direct learning support to students across all grade levels (K-12), addressing academic, social, and emotional challenges through targeted interventions and strategies.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education, distance learning, and learning enrichment strategies.
- Assist students in developing positive behaviours, self-regulation, and emotional resilience, adapting strategies to suit the online learning environment.
- Assist in the management of the Nationally Consistent Collection Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD).
About You
- Have an active Christian faith.
- Have suitable qualifications and/or experience in administration.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Be able to receive feedback and be a team player with a can-do attitude.
- Hold a current Employee Working With Children Check.
