About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Food and Beverage Manager to join our team at Hyatt Hotel Canberra. As a key member of our food and beverage operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our outlets, including scheduling, forecasting, and training staff. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as all operating procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with guests and colleagues
  • Create and manage outlet rosters
  • Manage service through outlets and allocate sections
  • Conduct pre-service meetings
  • Ensure all opening, handover, and closing checklists are complete
  • Communicate relevant guest information to staff and the kitchen
  • Perform daily administrative and reporting tasks
  • Develop and maintain service standards
  • Manage and order inventory

Qualifications

  • Supervisor experience
  • Experience in a similar environment
  • Wine and beverage knowledge in an upscale environment preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work with a flexible schedule, team player, and dynamic leader
  • Good problem-solving, administrative, and interpersonal skills
  • Valid and current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate
