About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Management Specialist to join our team at Halcyon Knights. As a key member of our high-performance team, you will be responsible for providing effective financial management services and offering expert business advice and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage as a team member to provide effective financial management services.
  • Offer expert business advice and analysis.
  • Contribute insights and improvements to various reporting systems and tools.
  • Support the department's business management.
  • Implement continuous improvement in processes, services, and systems.
  • Ensure alignment with business needs.
  • Use open dialogue to embed changes and improve service delivery.
  • Overcome barriers and support the department's vision of educational change and student transformation.
  • Build strategic relationships and promote cross-functional collaboration.
  • Deliver high-quality financial reports and analysis.
  • Interpret financial data against KPIs and budgets.
  • Provide insightful business advice to facilitate strategic decision-making.
  • Negotiate with stakeholders on financial performance.
  • Offer feedback and assistance to seize opportunities.
  • Coordinate the annual budget setting process.
  • Conduct regular budget reviews and compile year-end projections.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly Budget Monitoring System submissions.
  • Address queries from the Department of Treasury and Finance.
  • Prepare journals and papers for submission and Board review.
  • Develop and review costing and pricing methodologies.
  • Report on domestic and international activities.
  • Implement forecasting cycles for recurrent, capital, and activity reporting.
  • Assist the Manager, Finance, and Procurement with management accounting services and compliance.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with experience in finance, accountancy projects, and a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Commerce, or a related discipline. A working with children check or willingness to obtain one immediately is also required. A tertiary qualification in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related discipline is desirable.
