Financial Operations Specialist

Role Overview:

As a Financial Operations Specialist at REO Group, you will play a crucial role in overseeing end-to-end accounts payable and receivable tasks. This includes invoice processing, statement reconciliation, payment preparation, debt follow-up, and journal entries. You will also be responsible for managing credit card and bank statements, assisting with BAS and PRT lodgements, supporting payroll when necessary, and executing ad hoc duties as directed by higher management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
  • Establish new creditor and debtor accounts.
  • Process supplier invoices efficiently.
  • Reconcile financial statements accurately.
  • Prepare and execute payment runs.
  • Proactively follow up on outstanding debts.
  • Handle journals and reconciliations proficiently.
  • Manage credit card statements effectively.
  • Conduct thorough bank reconciliations.
  • Provide support for BAS and PRT lodgements, aid in store management accounting, offer backup assistance for payroll, execute ad hoc duties assigned by higher management, and contribute to the identification and implementation of process improvements for enhanced team and business efficiency.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate should have advanced computer skills in Excel, Outlook, and Xero, along with proactive, self-driven, and excellent communication abilities. They must thrive in both team and independent settings, possess strong attention to detail, and manage time effectively to meet deadlines. Problem-solving skills, professionalism, and the capacity to build rapport across the organization are crucial. While prior bookkeeping experience and Xero familiarity are beneficial, they're not required.
