Reliable Fleet Maintenance Professional

This dynamic and challenging role plays a crucial part in ensuring the reliability, safety, and compliance of plant and fleet assets.

  • Fleet maintenance and repairs require diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on Council fleet assets.
  • Outsourced services coordination involves engaging and managing qualified external providers for specialized repairs and maintenance.
  • Compliance assurance is essential to ensure all fleet, plant, equipment, and workshop environments comply with statutory regulations.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • A current C Class Open Licence is required.
  • Trade qualification in Mechanical (Diesel Fitter) and suitable trade experience are essential.
  • Metal Arc Welding / MIG / Oxy cutting and welding knowledge is highly valued.
  • Ability to work independently or in a small team environment is necessary.
  • Knowledge of operations and maintenance of a diverse range of vehicles, plant, and equipment is critical.
  • A General Construction Safety Induction (White Card) is mandatory.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in multiple mechanical trade disciplines such as hydraulic, auto electrics, fabrication, etc. are advantageous.
  • Additional licences for operating specialised equipment are beneficial (HR Class, High Risk work, Air conditioning or Refrigerant Handling Licences, etc.).
  • Other relevant trade certificates in vehicle, plant, and truck repair works are valuable.
