Our Team is looking for a Community Engagement Specialist to work in the Northern Murray-Darling Basin.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for engaging and building partnerships with regional communities, organisations and groups including First Nations communities, local water managers, land management organisations, local governments, landholders, environmental groups and irrigators to help facilitate understanding and management of Commonwealth water for the environment.

You will represent and communicate our interests within the community and actively advise on community views, knowledge and issues to assist decision making on the use and management of Commonwealth water for the environment.

You will also initiate, collaborate in, participate in, or support local community or engagement events or experiences to help promote and increase understanding of Commonwealth water for the environment management and outcomes.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders in the region
  • Provide advice on community views, knowledge and issues to inform decision making
  • Support the planning and delivery of water for the environment in the Northern Murray-Darling Basin
  • Contribute to the identification, planning and management of water for the environment
