Job Description

The role of the Director GWEO Maintenance Operations is to lead and manage guided weapons maintenance operations at HMAS Stirling, WA. As an EL 2 Director, you will be responsible for leading teams of technicians who test, repair and maintain complex guided weapons and explosive ordnance products used by the Australian Defence Force.

The Director GWEO Maintenance Operations-West (EOMD-W) is a critical executive-level role that requires strategic leadership and technical expertise to drive performance and support Defence operations. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety and efficiency, while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead teams of highly skilled maintenance technicians and operations;
  • Plan and manage allocated resources, set work area priorities, workflows, develop strategies and evaluate business outcomes;
  • Drive the delivery of complex maintenance activities to meet safety, quality and performance targets;
  • Draw upon knowledge and expertise of maintenance operations to effectively manage production risks and maximise throughput, safety and quality;
Requirements
  • Significant experience in leading maintenance and/or production operations within a highly regulated safety environment;
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills;
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, build relationships with stakeholders and drive continuous improvement;
