Job Title: Senior Project Director

The Department of Housing and Works is responsible for delivering and maintaining essential social housing and critical infrastructure across Western Australia.

  • We manage tenancy services, support housing provision in remote Aboriginal communities, and oversee government employee accommodation.
  • Through office accommodation solutions, State Fleet management, procurement, planning, and asset policy, we empower other government agencies to deliver their best.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Director (Digital) to join our Major Projects team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the provision of strategy, direction, and technical expertise to ensure that digital solutions are aligned with the existing and future state health information systems and support the transition to operations and commissioning of the Women and Babies Hospital (NWBHP).

About You:
  • You will possess an extensive understanding of the technical and commercial aspects of digital hospital delivery under a complex building procurement environment, ideally under a major project procurement methodology such as a managing contractor form of procurement;
  • You will have an understanding of digital procurement by State Government and how it relates to Health service delivery;
  • You have the ability to establish networks and communicate effectively with key stakeholders in a complex digital infrastructure project environment;
  • You can demonstrate highly developed conceptual and analytical skills;
  • You will be passionate and committed to delivering value for money outcomes for the State and the community of WA as a whole.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure appropriate review and advice is provided for the delivery of all digital aspects of the NWBHP, including the design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning, and digital infrastructure implementation in accordance with the scope, schedule, quality standards, and specifications.
  • Coordinate the design and delivery of digital systems that form part of the NWBHP, ensuring that the outcomes are aligned with the NWBHP objectives, scope, and quality standards, and that any issues or risks are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Maintain visibility of proposed amendments to digital project scope and provide advice on potential risks of such amendments on the project, as well as viable solutions to mitigate these risks, including managing communications and collaboration among the digital team and the NWBHP team, as well as other stakeholders such as end-users, vendors, regulators, and external consultants.
