Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Hydrotechnical Engineer to enhance our Water Resources group across various locations.

Key Responsibilities

The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Leading engineering evaluations and designs for:
    • River infrastructure such as water intakes, outfalls, dams, weirs, fishways, flood mitigation, erosion control, river training, and protective works.
    • Watercourse crossings, including bridges, pipelines, roads, and other linear infrastructure.
    • Restoration of fish habitats and watercourses utilizing bioengineering methods.
    • Flood inundation assessments and flood hazard mapping.
    • Applied hydrologic studies, including flood frequency analysis.
  • Overseeing project management, contract administration, and budget control.
  • Preparing proposals and engaging in business and client development activities.
  • Creating contract documents, including detailed design drawings and specifications.
  • Administering construction contracts and providing site inspection services.
  • Offering mentorship and on-the-job training to junior staff.

Qualifications

Capabilities and Credentials

  • Proficient in HEC-RAS and other hydraulic modeling software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A commitment to professional growth in a challenging environment that promotes leadership, mentoring, and diverse experiences.
  • Aspirations for leadership in staff and business development are advantageous.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Over 10 years of consulting experience related to river engineering, hydrotechnical engineering, and water resources.
  • Professional engineer registration with relevant authorities or qualifications to obtain this registration upon employment.
