Opportunity:

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is actively seeking a Senior Hydrotechnical Engineer to enhance our Water Resources group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee engineering evaluations and designs for:
    • River infrastructure, including water intakes, outfalls, dams, weirs, fishways, flood mitigation, erosion control, river training, and protective measures.
    • Watercourse crossings, such as bridges, pipelines, roads, and other linear infrastructure.
    • Restoration of fish habitats and watercourses utilizing bioengineering techniques.
    • Flood inundation assessments and flood hazard mapping.
    • Applied hydrologic studies, including flood frequency analysis.
  • Manage projects, oversee contracts, and maintain budgetary control.
  • Develop proposals and engage in business and client development initiatives.
  • Prepare contract documents, including detailed design drawings and specifications.
  • Administer construction contracts and provide site inspection services.
  • Mentor and train staff on-the-job.

Qualifications:

Skills and Credentials:

  • Strong proficiency in HEC-RAS and other hydraulic modeling software.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A commitment to professional growth in a dynamic environment that encourages leadership, mentoring, and diverse experiences.
  • Aspirations for leadership in staff and business development are advantageous.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • More than 10 years of consulting experience in river engineering, hydrotechnical engineering, and water resources.
  • Professional engineer registration with relevant engineering bodies or qualifications to obtain such registration upon employment commencement.
