About the Role

Arcadis is seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our water team, you will be responsible for developing hydrological and hydraulic flood models, water balance models, and technical inputs for proposals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement hydrological and hydraulic flood models to assess flood risk and impact.
  • Design and develop water balance models for complex systems to optimize water resources.
  • Contribute to the development of proposals and technical reports for water-related projects.
  • Mentor and manage junior engineers to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver flood impact assessments and flood risk management plans.
  • Work on climate change adaptation, water optimization, and resilience-related projects to ensure sustainable water management.
  • Coordinate and verify designs, including drawings, reports, specifications, and studies, with project teams.
  • Help grow teams and build internal and external relationships to drive business growth.
  • Embrace and promote a leading digital work environment and delivery culture.
  • Work collaboratively with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a field related to water resources engineering.
  • Experience with modeling software such as TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, RORB, or RAFTS.
  • Programming skills, including Python.
  • Water balance programs, such as Gold Sim.
  • GIS experience, including Arc GIS, QGIS, or Map Info.
  • Understanding of ARR2019 guidelines.
  • Experience in several facets of the project lifecycle, from tendering and concept design to construction.
  • Demonstrated self-management and ability to work autonomously.
  • Experience working with a variety of clients.
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian standards, regulations, and legislation.
  • Desire to work collaboratively in a high-performing team environment.
  • Ambition to grow technical skills and personal influence.
