Our Work EnvironmentThe Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) plays a vital role in Queensland's justice system, representing the State in prosecuting criminal matters across courts with professionalism and integrity.
Main Responsibilities- Expertly prepare cases referred to the ODPP for prosecution.
- Build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with defence counsel, solicitors, police officers, victims, and witnesses.
- Advocate in committal and summary hearings in the Magistrates Court, with opportunities to develop your expertise depending on the location.
- Provide vital liaison with complainants and their families, especially in sensitive and complex cases involving sexual and violent offences.
- Mentor, motivate, and guide legal support staff, fostering a supportive and high-performing work environment.
- You must be admitted as a Legal Practitioner in a State or Territory of Australia.
