Operations Manager - Cannabis Production

The Operations Manager is a pivotal role in driving scale and efficiency within a leading organisation at the forefront of the Australian medicinal cannabis industry.

You will be responsible for the operational management of a large-scale cannabis production facility, overseeing both indoor and outdoor cultivation while ensuring compliance with GMP regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Management: Manage the daily operations of a GMP-certified cannabis production facility.
  • Cultivation Oversight: Oversee the cultivation of 10 tonnes from indoor and 30 tonnes from outdoor operations.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of 20, including extraction specialists and quality managers.
  • Continuous Production: Ensure continuous production with structured shift patterns, including daily harvesting and processing.
  • SOP Development: Develop and enforce SOPs, compliance documentation, and validation processes.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Work closely with Quality and Validation teams to maintain regulatory standards.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 5+ years' experience in a similar role within the cannabis, pharmaceutical, or poppy processing industry.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience in start-ups and scaling operations, with a strong background in GMP compliance, extraction, and manufacturing.
  • Operational Management: Strong leadership and operational management skills, with the ability to drive a high-performance culture.
