A highly rewarding opportunity exists for an Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary Allied Health Team at Guide Dogs SA/NT.

About the Role

As a Vision Rehabilitation Therapist, you will have the chance to improve the quality of life and independence of individuals with low vision or blindness. You will work closely with clients, assessing their needs and developing personalized rehabilitation plans that incorporate assistive technology, home modifications, and therapeutic interventions.

You will be responsible for providing direct vision-related services in various settings, including hospitals, schools, homes, and communities. Your expertise will enable you to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our clients, promoting their participation, inclusion, and wellbeing.

About You

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist who is committed to delivering best practice care. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Your ability to design, implement, monitor, and evaluate consumer-focused vision rehabilitation programs is essential. Proficiency in the use of a broad range of technology and a willingness to continuously upskill and learn new technologies are also crucial.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and eligibility for registration;
  • Experience working with individuals with neurological vision loss, assistive technology, and/or early intervention;
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.

Location and Remuneration

This role is based in Adelaide, with metro and regional travel required. The salary package includes a base salary of $120,000 per annum, plus superannuation and other benefits.
