About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Capital Works Director to lead our team in delivering complex property capital works projects. As a key member of our Corporate, Information, and Property Services Branch, you will be responsible for managing budgets, project risks, and relationships with stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage detailed property capital works projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of construction project management, from planning and design to procurement, delivery, and handover.
  • Prepare business cases, reports, and project updates to inform stakeholders and drive decision-making.
  • Manage budgets and track project expenditure, identifying areas for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, issues, and ensure compliance with governance frameworks.
  • Establish contracts and monitor contractor performance, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
About You

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in property capital projects with complex scopes, with a strong track record of delivering results.
  • Leadership and management experience in project delivery, with a focus on team leadership and accountability.
  • Strong knowledge of Project and Construction Management systems, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a fast-paced environment.
  • Qualifications in Project Management, with a focus on capital works and construction.
  • Exceptional team leadership and accountability, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to deliver high-quality results.
  • Experience with major program changes and rollouts, with a focus on stakeholder engagement and communication.
