Staff Specialist Position

The Centre for Infectious Diseases and Microbiology (CIDM) is seeking a Staff Specialist to fill this permanent position, working up to 0.6 FTE.

About the Role
  • This role involves providing clinical care in inpatient and outpatient settings, as part of the infectious diseases service.
  • Candidates should have a high level of competence in clinical care, including critical care infection, infections in immunocompromised patients, HIV medicine, tuberculosis, and more.
Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with infectious diseases.
  • Supervise junior medical staff and students, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Contribute to research and quality assurance activities, enhancing patient outcomes and hospital performance.
  • Develop and implement effective infection prevention and control policies, minimizing risks and improving safety standards.
Requirements
  • Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent.
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
  • Demonstrated skills for practice as a Senior Medical/Dental Practitioner, meeting industry standards and best practices.
