Senior Care Practitioner

Join a supportive team to provide high-quality care services for residents in a new 102-bed aged care home.

  • Establish strong relationships with residents through one-to-one visits and group-based activities.
  • Encourage resident choice and participation in pastoral care services.
  • Provide spiritual support and pastoral care services to residents, family members and employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective pastoral care plans for residents.
  • Prepare spiritual celebrations to recognize special days of remembrance.
  • Provide personal spiritual support and pastoral care to residents in line with their preferences.
  • Support mission formation activities for employees within the residential aged care home.
  • Maintain accurate records of pastoral care assessments and progress notes.

Requirements:

  • Cert III or Cert IV in Pastoral Care, Counselling or similar qualifications in theology or spirituality.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with residents and their families.
  • Commitment to respecting the values, customs, preferences and spiritual beliefs of residents.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Christian Spirituality, dignity of life, and aged care principles.
