Job Role Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Midwife to provide family-centered care in collaboration with other health professionals and significant others.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care by applying nursing and midwifery clinical skills and contemporary knowledge
  • Partner with patients and their support persons throughout the pregnancy and birth continuum
  • Undertake comprehensive ante and postnatal assessment(s) and develop or revise care plans inclusive of physical, psychological, cultural and spiritual needs
  • Determine and monitor maternal and fetal well-being and communicate effectively with other health professionals
  • Undertake comprehensive discharge planning to ensure patients are provided with adequate support through education, resources and community services access

Key Qualifications:

  • Applying nursing and midwifery clinical skills and contemporary knowledge
  • Providing woman-centred maternity care about personal and/or cultural needs and preferences
  • Developing and implementing individualized care plans that meet the unique needs and expectations of each patient
  • Effective communication and collaboration with other healthcare professionals
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures
