Our Specialist – Clinical Care team members play an important subject matter expert role contributing to training and development, quality improvement and innovative initiates that benefit the services provided to our community aged care customers. We have a newly created Continence Specialist opportunity in our growing Clinical Care team.
Drawing on your extensive expertise and innovative approach, you will ensure the delivery of evidence-based care during intake, assessments, and clinical interventions. Your continence care knowledge, including catheter management, will drive excellence and innovation in community aged care, promote positive customer health outcomes through evidence-based practices, specialist referrals, and collaboration with health professionals and service providers.
This role is offered as Permanent Full-Time or Part-Time (60.8 hours per fortnight; 4 days per week or reduced hours across 5 days), with flexibility for hybrid work arrangements that include working from our Suncare Rockhampton office and from home.

Reporting to a Team Leader – Clinical Care, you will:
- Demonstrate extensive practice knowledge and clinical skills in the delivery of continence care.
- Lead, mentor, and support clinicians and direct care staff in the delivery of evidence-based clinical interventions for Suncare customers and their families in the specialist area of continence care.
- Provide direct care services to Suncare's customers and their families including proficiently performing specialty-specific procedures, and interventions.
- Provide specialist continence care support and advice to the Team Leaders in Clinical Care and Allied Health Care.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate tailored programs that meet Suncare customer needs and reflect best practices.
- Contribute and lead service innovations, quality improvement practices, and provide expert knowledge and advice continence care.
- Take an active role in skills assessment, teaching, enabling others and the development of clinical education and training activities and resources in continence care.
What you will bring to our team
- Post-secondary or tertiary qualification in Nursing and current registration with AHPRA.
- Demonstrated extensive clinical experience in continence care (preferably in aged care) and associated catheter management, or evidence of post graduate studies in continence care.
- Demonstrated relevant experience in training and skills assessment in continence care and associated catheter management, or a certificate in training and assessment is highly regarded.
- Urology experience is highly regarded but not essential.
- Active participation in clinical care specialist industry bodies to keep abreast of innovation and research and the demonstrated ability to apply continuous quality improvement principles in service development.
- Willingness to use your own appropriately registered and insured vehicle for work purposes and have current First Aid and CPR Certificates.
