Mergers and Acquisitions Leader

Are you a seasoned executive seeking a new challenge? Do you have a track record of delivering complex M&A projects from inception to completion?

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially savvy professional to join our Corporate Finance division in Melbourne. As a Mergers and Acquisitions Manager, you will be responsible for leading multiple projects and staff in a small cohesive team, reporting directly to the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Advisory – end-to-end M&A and lead IPO execution, including target list, databook, and information memorandum preparation, financial due diligence, and data room management;
  • Work across sell-side, buy-side, capital raising (debt and equity), and strategic advice;
  • Take ownership of deliverables and complete them effectively within required timeframes;
  • Manage, develop, and work collaboratively with junior members of the team;
  • Build and manage client and stakeholder relationships;
  • Assist with deal origination and the preparation of proposals, engagements, and pitch documents.
About You:

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A degree in Business, Commerce, Law, or Economics (CA or CFA qualification highly regarded);
  • 3-5 years' experience in M&A within a top-tier/mid-tier accounting firm, investment bank, or boutique advisory;
  • Proven experience managing multiple M&A projects from inception to completion;
  • Strong analytical, commercial, and critical thinking skills;
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and stakeholder management abilities;
  • High attention to detail and strong ethical standards;
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development experience;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
