About the Role

The role of a Governance Advisor is crucial in supporting senior decision-makers to address serious and organised crime affecting Australia.

This position is responsible for coordinating support and advice to internal and external committees, as well as operational working groups.

Working within a small team, the successful candidate will coordinate meetings, prepare papers, take minutes, and manage action items.

The Governance Advisor will also provide strategic coordination of committees and working groups, identifying opportunities to strengthen engagement across operations through collaboration with partner agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide secretariat support for complex, inter-agency committees, including coordinating committee materials, preparing briefing papers, managing deadlines, and taking meeting minutes.
  • Support the development and maintenance of internal and external stakeholder networks, building and sustaining positive relationships to leverage and progress work.
  • Draft concise correspondence to internal and external stakeholders, prepare strategic documentation, briefing material, and talking points.
  • Work effectively in a team, contributing to shared outcomes, implementing solutions to problems, and supporting others.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Australian citizenship is required.
  • Satisfactory proof of vaccination status against COVID-19 is required before commencing employment.
  • A minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance is required.
