Overview

Join a Leading ICT Advisory Firm Driving Public Sector Transformation. Strategic Directions seeks an experienced and outcome-driven Principal Consultant to lead high-impact ICT consulting engagements, working with government and commercial clients to deliver strategic advice, transformation initiatives, and governance frameworks that support real-world outcomes. This is a high-trust, high-autonomy role suited to a confident self-starter with deep public sector experience and a passion for solving complex challenges.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead engagements in ICT strategy, governance, risk, and transformation
  • Build trusted relationships with CIOs, GMs, and senior executives
  • Develop roadmaps and artefacts including ToRs, risk registers, governance frameworks, and business cases
  • Mentor consultants and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
  • Drive growth, identifying new opportunities and contributing to proposals and thought leadership
About You
  • 10+ years in ICT, digital strategy, or business consulting
  • Strong knowledge of frameworks such as COBIT, ISO/ISM, Essential Eight, and IS18
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Skilled facilitator, able to lead workshops and executive discussions
  • Familiarity with ERP, cloud, cyber, and business system implementations
  • Demonstrated experience in public sector ICT programs
  • Degree-qualified (or equivalent experience) in ICT, Business, or a related field
  • Certifications such as ITIL, TOGAF, PRINCE2, PMBoK, or COBIT desirable
  • Must be an Australian Citizen
  • Ability to obtain AGSVA Baseline or NV1 Clearance is a plus
