About This Role

We are seeking a Mental Health Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive mental health assessments, risk assessments and evidence-based interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting comprehensive intake assessments utilising the Initial Assessment and Response (IAR-DST) tool, determining appropriate service allocations, and managing escalations for high-risk or complex cases
  • Conducting intake and risk assessments and developing tailored counselling plans in collaboration with participants and their families.
  • Assessment and triage of individuals seeking mental health services
  • Engaging with participants providing personalised counselling, therapy and brief therapeutic interventions
  • Advocating for participants and coordinating with other clinicians, peer lived experience workers and stakeholders to enhance interventions and well-being.
  • Monitoring and managing participants' mental health and well-being, collaborating with health professionals as needed.
  • Match participants with appropriate internal or external mental health services based on clinical assessment and organisational capacity
  • Participating in clinical meetings, case meetings with peer lived experience workers, training sessions, and professional development activities to enhance your expertise.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Current AHPRA registration in relevant discipline (psychologist, registered nurse) or AASW (Social Worker) (mental health accreditation highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated experience in comprehensive mental health assessments, risk assessments and evidence-based interventions.
  • Ability to demonstrate and provide mental health triage and participant de-escalation
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in trauma informed counselling and therapy including the use of multiple clinical counselling modalities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including good computer literacy
  • Ability to build rapport and influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Passion for making a difference and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, solution-focused environment.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills, with the ability to meet program delivery KPIs.
