Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced outage planner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective scheduling, cost management, change control, and risk management for assigned projects or outages.

The role involves working closely with project managers and their teams to ensure the safe delivery of outages, stability, and capacity projects. This includes providing guidance and support on project processes and governance to ensure adherence to established guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish standardized Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and prepare cost control systems to capture cost against the WBS for outages
  • Facilitate the planning and preparation of outage delivery schedules that aid in timely reporting of progress against targets, resources are adequately planned, and costs are accurately forecasted
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports for project/program managers with critical path analysis while providing strategies for mitigating variances relating to scheduling, resources, and cost as required
  • Provide analysis of contractor backing data, schedules, and cost reports
  • Work with project/program managers in the planning process to develop schedules, budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans

Requirements:

  • Strong experience (5+ years) in outages/shutdown/maintenance planning for heavy industry or energy projects
  • High understanding of Critical Path Analysis, Earned Value Management, and project forecasting
  • Commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment performance and improvement
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and trade skills preferable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Microsoft Office suite (Advanced)
  • Ability to work well in a close team environment
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills
