**The Role**

The role of Outage Planner supports project managers and their teams in the Maintenance & Overhauls group in safely delivering outages, stability & capacity, and SIB projects.

Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you will provide effective scheduling, cost management, change control as well as risk management for assigned projects or outages. You will also provide guidance and support on project processes and governance to ensure adherence to the G&D project controls guidelines for successful delivery of projects.

The role is site-based role during outages (2-4 a year) for 4-week blocks supporting primarily Darling Downs, Quarantine, Roma and other power stations as required.

You will also:

- Establish standardised Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and prepare cost control systems to capture cost against the WBS for outages
- Facilitate the planning and preparation of outage delivery schedules that aid In timely reporting of progress against targets, resources are adequately planned and cost are accurately forecasted
- Prepare accurate and timely reports for project/program managers with critical path analysis while providing strategies for mitigating variances relating to scheduling, resources and cost as required.
- Provide analysis of contractor backing data, schedules and cost reports
- Work with project/program managers in the planning process to develop schedules, budgets, forecasts and strategic plans

**Is this You?**

You have strong experience (5+ years) in outages / shutdown / maintenance planning for heavy industry or energy projects as well as high understanding of Critical Path Analysis, Earned Value Management, and project forecasting. Just as importantly, you can demonstrate a commitment to Health, Safety and Environment performance and improvement.

You will also have:

- Relevant tertiary qualification and trade skills preferable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Microsoft Office suite (Advanced)
- Ability to work well in a close team environment
- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills
