Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join our team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership, planning, and analytical skills.

  • This position involves supervising Mine Planning Engineers, providing leadership, mentorship, training, and development opportunities.
  • You will contribute to the underground team to deliver monthly, 3-monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking all planning activities incorporating medium- and long-term planning requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Direct responsibility for supervision of Mine Planning Engineers and provide leadership, mentorship, training, and development opportunities.
  2. Contribute to the underground team to deliver monthly, 3-monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts.
  3. Undertake all planning activities incorporating medium- and long-term planning requirements.
  4. Produce and deliver quarterly forecasts, half-year reforecasts, spatial compliance reports (actual vs budgets), annual budget preparation, and life-of-asset plans.
  5. Undertake underground mine designs, level extraction plan preparation and economic evaluation.
  6. Ore Reserve preparations in accordance with JORC code definitions.
  7. Liaise with the Production, Paste Fill, Geotechnical and Geology workgroups to ensure medium- and long-term priorities are transferred into short-term plans.
  8. Identify and implement opportunities to optimise mining processes and provide business improvement strategies.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering.
  • Practical experience on large-scale underground mining operations, including new projects ramp-up and multi-site operations.
  • Previous experience with financial modelling/costing.
  • Able to influence, communicate risks, develop realistic plans and deliver compelling presentations.
