Senior Technical Leader

The role of Linux Engineering Manager involves leading a distributed team of engineers to design and implement the best Ubuntu integration for latest IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks. Key responsibilities include engaging with commercial partners to deliver a high-quality, optimised Ubuntu experience on their platforms.
As part of this role, you will oversee commercial engagements and ensure timely delivery on agreed project milestones while maintaining strict quality and reliability standards. You will also engage with other teams at Canonical to ensure alignment on product architecture and roadmaps.
Key qualifications for this position include work experience with Linux distributions, debian packaging, and high-performance server-class hardware. The ideal candidate will also have demonstrated experience managing or leading a team of software engineers, understanding of agile software development methodologies, and effective communications skills in English.
In addition to technical expertise, strong leadership skills are essential for success in this role. A bachelor's degree (or equivalent university level) in a technology field is required.
