Job Summary:

The Fitter/Motor Mechanic role involves providing high-quality mechanical services to support the Engineering Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining equipment, performing maintenance tasks, and installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain all equipment and services
  • Carry out maintenance tasks across the Prince of Wales Campus
  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical services within the hospital and other properties covered by the Engineering Department
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical fitting or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance of a large building complex or hospital with proven ability to work and cooperate with a multidisciplinary team of trade, non-trade, and contract staff
  • Proven skills in problem solving, including the ability to interpret building and services plans
  • Hold a boiler attendant license or willing to obtain one after commencement
  • Experienced in the use of tools associated with fitter's work including lathes, bench drills, grinders, oxy and electric welders
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and work order systems
