About the Role

The Strategic Sourcing Manager is a key member of the Supply Chain team at Electro Optic Systems Pty Ltd, responsible for developing and implementing the global sourcing and procurement strategy for materials and componentry used in the manufacture of EOS products.

This role involves developing and improving strategic relationships with suppliers locally and internationally, identifying and selecting appropriate vendors for the supply of make-to-order materials and allied services, and supporting the design and production of EOS equipment and components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve strategic relationships with suppliers locally and internationally.
  • Identify and select appropriate vendors for the supply of make-to-order materials and allied services.
  • Support the design and production of EOS equipment and components.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of EOS' global supply chain efficiencies and strategy.
  • Support the costing and estimating needs of the business by obtaining competitive quotes from external parties for goods and services.
  • Maintain awareness of vendor lead times to deliver items critical to production.
  • Negotiate changes to lead times with vendors as required, and update systems.
  • Apply technical and strategic procurement expertise to resolve quality matters, vendor capability and capacity, and lead time constraints.
  • Review stockholdings with Production Planners to ensure adequate stock levels are held to align with the Production Schedule to meet company objectives.
  • Work with EOS' ERP and MRP system to optimize the flow of materials through the supply chain.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of EOS' material specifications and drawings and product ranges, and methods of manufacture.
  • Oversee Supplier Performance Management of critical suppliers.

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our supply chain team on a permanent full-time basis. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of engineering drawings and Bills of Materials, and will be able to apply technical and strategic procurement expertise to resolve quality matters, vendor capability and capacity, and lead time constraints.

Requirements:

  • International and local sourcing experience at a strategic level.
  • Thorough understanding of engineering drawings and Bills of Materials.
  • Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing trade or degree qualification.
  • Commercial/business qualifications desirable.
  • APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) highly regarded.
  • CIPS accreditations highly regarded.
