Job Description">

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Public Liability Claims Officer to join our team.

">

The successful candidate will be responsible for proactively managing the claims process, resulting in accurate completion and validation of claims.

">

Key responsibilities include:

">
  • Pro-actively and efficiently managing end-to-end personal injury and property liability claims.">
  • Interpreting policy coverage and determining if coverage applies to claims submitted, escalating issues as needed.">
  • Establishing and maintaining good client relationships with the insured, brokers, investigators, solicitors and the general public.">
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant statutory guidelines and standards.">
  • Initiation and completion of any recoveries from third parties.">
  • Self-audit of claims files to ensure positive internal audits.">
  • Response to enquiries in an accurate, timely, professional and courteous manner within privacy guidelines.">
">Required Skills and Qualifications">

To be successful in this role, you will need:

">
  • Legal qualifications would be advantageous, however, are not necessary.">
  • A background in Public Liability/Personal Injury claims.">
  • Experience with attending Informal Settlement Conferences, Mediations and Trials.">
  • Sound technical understanding and ability to manage a diversified portfolio of bodily injury, property damage and product liability claims.">
  • Understanding of underwriting procedures for a diversified liability portfolio and a proven ability to understand and interpret relevant policy wordings.">
  • Ability to engage, instruct and work with relevant providers including lawyers, loss adjusters and consultants.">
  • An understanding of, and demonstrable application of, the General Insurance Code of Practice.">
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client/customer relationships.">
  • Good problem-solving skills - ability to interpret technical/investigation reports to make sound business decisions.">
  • Ability to participate in alternative dispute resolution.">
