Job Opportunity: Para Sport and Classification Advisor

The Victorian Institute of Sport & Tasmanian Institute of Sport are seeking a skilled professional to provide focused classification support.

This role involves delivering localised classification education, insights and support for Paralympic athletes, coaches and support staff. The advisor will also collaborate with stakeholders to identify and deliver changes in support of Australia's High-Performance 2032+ Para System Uplift goals.

The position requires travel to support both institute and academy in alignment with operational needs.

A combination of education, career and lived experience will be used in filling positions with Paralympics Australia.

  • Implement Para-sport, classification and impairment related education and information initiatives.
  • Provide classification insights for talent identification, transfer and performance planning.
  • Establish and grow State Institute of Sport and State Academy of Sport allied health provider networks.
  • Support athlete preparation for classification.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Classification experience and/or understanding of classification procedures within Para-sports.
  • Experience working with or being part of a performance environment.
  • Technical and administrative skills to support process-based functions.
  • Ability to educate and train individuals in classification processes.
  • Experience working with sensitive and confidential information.
