Network Security Expertise

This role requires a skilled professional with strong technical expertise in network engineering and security. As part of this position, you will be responsible for designing, evaluating, and implementing infrastructure requirements to meet future demand.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement infrastructure requirements to meet future demand.
  • Provide expert technical support for project build, test, and solution deployment activities.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain documentation including design documentation, implementation plans, test plans, and support procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies, operational policy, and procedures, and change initiatives.
  • Participate in change management processes and communicate end-to-end implications of configuration changes.
  • Provide detailed specialist technical advice, including strategic advice to senior executives.
  • Engage and partner with other agencies and service providers to build service delivery capability.
  • Manage the operation of backup, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions for IT systems.
  • Manage the regular maintenance of patches and support packages for all technical layers.
  • Manage the administration and operation of the Gateway network kit.

Key Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in the design, management, and maintenance of internet gateway and/or large-scale data centre networking environments.
  • Technical proficiency in the design of services utilising F5/Blue Coat Layer 4-7 switching/load balancing and proxy systems.
  • Experience in the design and deployment of network infrastructure including Cisco Data Centre technologies like Cisco ACI, Cisco Routers, Nexus switches, routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP.
  • Experience with and/or detailed understanding of Palo Alto firewalls and IPS Solutions.
  • Experience in the design and implementation of VPN technologies, email, and DNS (Infoblox) Solutions.
  • Experience in the design and integration of hybrid and public cloud services. Demonstrated experience in the development and maintenance of system architecture and design documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience with or knowledge of Australian Government information security policies, the ASD Information Security Manual, and Essential Eight.
