Job Responsibilities

As a Paediatric Trainee, you will be responsible for providing effective clinical management of paediatric medical patients, under appropriate supervision. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic patient care, exercising discretion and sensitivity in matters of urgency or sensitivity.

You will be expected to competently assess children presenting to the emergency department, make provisional diagnoses, and develop management plans. You will also be proficient in neonatal and paediatric resuscitation, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care.

Additionally, you will review patients in ambulatory care clinics, undertake assessments, and complete SCAN assessments when required. You will provide consultation and advice regarding pain, fluid management, and drug doses to paediatric surgical patients admitted at Blacktown Hospital.
