Job Overview

The Control Room Operator role is a key position within a large team in Melbourne, Australia. This position provides control room monitoring and call centre duties to assist with corporate client security needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance with the telephone call centre helpdesk function for internal security phone lines and emergency line, speaking to staff at all levels of the organisation.
  • Coordinate remote incident response and liaison with internal and external staff regarding security matters, including emergency calls to triple zero and police.
  • Manage security service bookings and dispatch of guards, roving patrol teams, and technicians, coordinating with our clients' contractors.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed incident reports in our clients' databases.
  • Monitor CCTV and alarm systems, as well as use building management systems.
  • Utilise standard computer systems such as Microsoft Suite, including Outlook and Microsoft Word.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Victorian Security Licence with Control Room Endorsement.
  • Certificate II or III in Security Operations.
  • Full vaccination against Covid-19 (2 doses).
  • Experience in a control room environment, preferably with call centre security operations experience.
  • Strong communication skills and professional phone manner.
  • Computer literacy and comfort using Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, etc.).
