Job Title: Assembly Fitter

The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and executing production activities in support of a market-driven business strategy.

  • Plan and execute all activities in accordance with company policies, procedures, and guidelines in support of a safe work environment.
  • Execute pump assembly production requirements in support of departmental on-time delivery (OTD) and Quality objectives.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during SOP reviews.
  • Support the Lean Engineer in coordination of Continuous Improvement projects using Lean tools.
  • Investigate and resolve Quality concerns on the shop floor.

Key qualifications include:

  • A tertiary qualification in Mechanical Fitting to AQF III or above.
  • Prior experience in a production environment.
  • An overhead crane certificate is desirable.

Physical demands include standing for up to 8 hours a day, lifting up to 20 kgs from various levels, wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for up to 8 hours a day, and exposure to loud environments and moving mechanical parts.

The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals, and have mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

Additionally, the candidate must be able to write routine reports and correspondence, and have a Certificate of completion of training and assessment against relevant SOP/SWP's for the work functions allocated.
