About the Role

As a Mechanical Designer, you will play a crucial role in developing projects from concept definition to production detail design. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that design solutions meet mechanical system requirements and best industry practices.

  • Develop designs using input from engineers and senior designers.
  • Calculate tolerances, dimensioning, weldability, and ease of assembly.
  • Create designs in line with company procedures, regulations, and client standards.
  • Deliver designs according to required timeframes and company procedures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and team members.
Responsibilities

- Create 3D models and sketches of designs.
- Calculate factors like tolerances, dimensioning, weldability, and ease of assembly.
- Develop designs in line with company procedures, regulations, and client standards.
- Create component and assembly models based on technical specifications (Autodesk Inventor).
- Provide practical and engineered design solutions in consultations with lead engineers.
- Deliver designs according to required timeframes and in line with company procedures, regulations, and client standards.
- Involvement from concept to install, including exposure to in-house fabrication workshop.
- Demonstrate high standard of personal safety and safe design practices.
- Assist mechanical engineers in the modelling and detailing of mechanical equipment.
- Ensure that designs and finished work are within scope of work and allocated time frame.
- Prepare general assembly drawings and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of senior engineers.
- Use customer feedback and data to upgrade, improve or repair the company's existing machines.
- Liaison with stakeholders.
- Provide support during the building and installation process, ensuring that the machine is built according to design specifications.
- To work in a safe manner using appropriate Safe Work Instructions or Safety Operating Procedures.
- Work in a collaborative and team manner.
- Understand company goals and core values.
- Proactive and willing to take on new challenges.
- Work effectively under pressure.
