Senior Environmental Consultant Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Consultant to join our team in Perth, supporting services for the mining and future energy sector.

About the Role:

This is an opportunity for an experienced professional looking to advance their career with a global leader in sustainability. You will be part of a successful team responsible for consulting on project permitting and approvals, networking with ERM's global teams to share best practices across industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and/or support various mining projects or future energy projects related to capital development, environmental permitting, mine closure planning/decommissioning, and associated management plans.
  • Collaborate with ERM national and global practitioners to execute projects, participating on multi-disciplinary teams from around the world.
  • Develop skills including technical expertise, project experience, and general consulting and decision-making abilities.
  • Contribute to proposal development, including technical scopes and cost estimates, aligned with ERM's policies and processes.
  • Direct and monitor project management activities when required, including task delegation and direction, subcontractor management, health & safety protocol management, commercial performance monitoring, quality review of deliverables, and client interaction.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in environmental science or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant mining and/or energy industry experience, including terrestrial based environmental approvals/permitting and/or management. Consulting industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience leading environmental approval and permitting processes for major capital projects (new mines or expansions, hydrogen and renewable energy developments).
  • Strong knowledge of capital project management and experience working as part of an integrated team.
  • Experience conducting third-party reviews against capital project planning, industry best practice, regulatory requirements, and corporate standards.
