The ideal candidate brings subject matter expertise in mechanical design, electronics packaging, and low-volume manufacturing, with strong proficiency in CAD software and a proven track record of delivering solutions from concept through production.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 5-7 years of mechanical design experience, preferably in electronics packaging, aerospace, or defense applications.
  • Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical design for low-volume production, including reverse engineering of legacy systems.
  • Familiarity with PCB layout, electronics housing design, and digital/RF packaging standards.
  • Working knowledge of Air Force TOs, metrology tools, and mechanical inspection processes.
  • Ability to develop and manage detailed BOMs, drawing packages, and configuration-controlled documentation.
  • Contribute to technical proposal efforts as part of a program capture team.
  • Support internal and external design reviews, Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR) activities to demonstrate the mechanical design meets all specifications and customer requirements.
