Overview

Healthscope is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Speech Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in an acute hospital setting.

Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience

Job Description

We are looking for a Speech Pathologist with extensive experience in adult speech pathology in an acute hospital setting. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, and participate in quality improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive speech and language therapy services to patients across various wards
  • Assess and manage dysphagia, including head and neck cancer and tracheostomy patients
  • Complete accurate documentation of patient progress using Functional Independent Measure (FIM)
  • Participate in case conferences and progress meetings with the multidisciplinary team
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Collaborate with the team to provide comprehensive patient care

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology degree or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in adult speech pathology in an acute hospital setting
  • Eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia membership
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible and positive approach to work
